Chris Mapane is a South African comedian who has been keeping people laughing for around 7 years now. Chris is 22 years old has a sense of humour to share with the world.

He started doing stand-up comedy with a one man show at the University of the Witwatersrand and never looked back.

With his extremely infectious energy and presence on stage, he keeps the audience interested, entertained and laughing from start to finish.

His star started to shine from the days of mentoring “So you think you are funny” contestants to being able to share the stage with the likes of Terry Pheto & Lira while also being privileged to share the same stage with international superstars like Brandy, Regina King and Vivaca A Fox at the SA Sports Awards.

His skills earned him a nomination at the Ikusasa Award for Comedian of the Year in 2012 along with hosting the sendoff of the SA Swimming Team to the Olympics, Telkom Foundation “Beacon Of Hope” Event and Telkom “Knock-Out” along with the Gauteng Sports Awards….to mention just a few. Chris’ skill also got him reviewed in publications such as Blaque and GQ, while Destiny Man featured him in the “Power of 40”.

This is about 40 of SA’s Remarkable Rising Stars who are under the age of 40.

This young creative comedian has introduced what we refer to now as “AdBreak Fillers”. He keeps the live audience entertained for the duration of the ad break when a show is aired live on TV. Publications such as Sunday World and TNA have given him laudable praises for this concept.

Chris Mapane tried his hand out at acting by featuring in the SA Comic Film “Taxi Ride””. Fellow comedian David Kau directs the film and Chris takes lead as Phanuel, the man in the wrong taxi. Chris Mapane is a proud “I’m a GeePee” ambassador, an initiative from the Gauteng Tourism Authority to celebrate Gauteng heritage. Chris’s most recent work includes the National Teaching Awards for 2013 at the Gallagher Estate.

GRIFF has wanted to be a comedian since he was three years old where his mother use to set up the seniors in The Convalescent Homes where she worked, in an audience typesetting and let her son make sleeping and comatose old people laugh. So after working the Geriatric Circuit for a couple of summers his destiny was settled. Since then, that little funny boy with the faith of a PLANET has made a name for himself as one of the leading comedians and On-Air Personalities in the Country by headlining across North America (including Canada), New Zealand, The U.K. and Africa.

With his quick wit and unsurpassed knowledge for sports news, “GRIFF” took sports took sports to the ‘next level’ with his comedic twist on athletes and their stories. In 1999 he received Georgia’s Sportcaster of the Year Award and in 2004 “Street Skillz”, a program he provided the color commentary for was nominated for an EMMY.

Ultimately, GRIFF is a Comedian, an On-Air Personality, an Author, an Actor, a Motivational Speaker, a Daddy, an EMMY nominated Sportscaster and a man who puts Jesus Christ ahead of all men all wrapped into one.
