Award-winning comedian Deep Fried Man's quirky, clever and original style of comedy has seen him establish himself as a top South African comic in just over two years. He won both the Newcomer Award at the inaugural Comics Choice Awards and the 2010 Parkers Comedy Showdown, and he has performing at some of South Africa's biggest and best comedy events.

Deep Fried Man studied at Rhodes University from 1999 to 2002 and graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts Degree. He started out as a serious musician before realising that the audience was laughing at him, after which he decided to try and at least make them laugh on purpose. He has been rocking comedy gigs all around the country ever since, and has been lucky enough to perform at some of South Africa's biggest comedy events - the Nando's Jozi Comedy Fest, Heavyweight Comedy Jam, Mind the Gap and LNN Live at the Lyric Theatre to name a few.

2011 saw Deep Fried Man accomplish so many things. These include his debut one-man show, which won a Standard Bank Ovation Award at the Grahamstown festival, and the release of a CD. He has had huge internet viral success with 'An Idiot's Guide to the SA Anthem', a YouTube video he made alongside fellow comedian Gareth Woods, and a topic he started for fun on Twitter, #askhelenzille, in which he directed random questions at DA leader Helen Zille, became one of the biggest South African twitter trends of all time, trending worldwide and earning him a lunch invitation from Zille.

Deep Fried Man has also had significant exposure on local TV, appearing on LOL, Tonight With Trevor Noah, Opening Guys, Morning Live and MTV Meets, on which he was part of a panel interviewing ANCYL leader Julius Malema. 2012 will see him make his first film appearance, in Riaad Moosa's Material. The highlight of his career so far, though, was performing 'Ice, Ice Baby' to Vanilla Ice himself. Deep Fried Man's songs are outrageous, uniquely South African, sometimes satirical and controversial but always entertaining. Apart from his usual material he can also tailor-make comedy songs specifically for your functions or corporate event.

Award-winning comedian Deep Fried Man's quirky, clever and original style of comedy has seen him establish himself as a top South African comic in just over two years.

GRIFF has wanted to be a comedian since he was three years old where his mother use to set up the seniors in The Convalescent Homes where she worked, in an audience typesetting and let her son make sleeping and comatose old people laugh. So after working the Geriatric Circuit for a couple of summers his destiny was settled. Since then, that little funny boy with the faith of a PLANET has made a name for himself as one of the leading comedians and On-Air Personalities in the Country by headlining across North America (including Canada), New Zealand, The U.K. and Africa.

With his quick wit and unsurpassed knowledge for sports news, “GRIFF” took sports took sports to the ‘next level’ with his comedic twist on athletes and their stories. In 1999 he received Georgia’s Sportcaster of the Year Award and in 2004 “Street Skillz”, a program he provided the color commentary for was nominated for an EMMY.

Ultimately, GRIFF is a Comedian, an On-Air Personality, an Author, an Actor, a Motivational Speaker, a Daddy, an EMMY nominated Sportscaster and a man who puts Jesus Christ ahead of all men all wrapped into one.
