Piet Potgieter is the biggest Afrikaner comedian to hit South African stages in the last five years - literally. This two meter tall Dutchman from Kraaifontein has taken the local comedy scene by storm.

His funny, witty, experiential and offbeat style of comedy has made him a firm favorite for both the Afrikaans and English comedy loving crowds.

Whether he’s played for 12, 000 bikers in Wynberg, 20 bergies in Obz or at a “boeredag” in Porterville the effect has remained the same, side-splitting mayhem.

His comedic journey started in 2007 playing for beer in the open mike comedy circuit in Cape Town until Kurt Schoonraad, Cape Town’s favorite comedian took him under his wing and started molding his talent into the comic he is today.

Apart from regular headline performances all over the country, he has also managed to appear as a contestant on the program “So you think you are funny” (it was in Xhosa – he lost…) as well as being runner up in the Heart FM Cape Town’s next big comic competition in 2010.

He then diversified his act by writing his debut one man show in Afrikaans called “Scheme jy ek’s Kommin”. This show had a sold out run in Durbanville and he continues to perform the show in both English & Afrikaans at various venues and corporate functions, which led to recurring appearances on Kyknet’s comedy show “Skerp” which aired in 2012 as well as “Jou show met Emo en Wicus to name a few.

He is currently touring his 2nd show that Debuted at Aardklop, “waar de hel is Witbank” to audiences all over the country.

HIRE PIET POTGIETER

Piet Potgieter is the biggest Afrikaner comedian to hit South African stages in the last five years - literally.

This two meter tall Dutchman from Kraaifontein has taken the local comedy scene by storm.

GRIFF has wanted to be a comedian since he was three years old where his mother use to set up the seniors in The Convalescent Homes where she worked, in an audience typesetting and let her son make sleeping and comatose old people laugh. So after working the Geriatric Circuit for a couple of summers his destiny was settled. Since then, that little funny boy with the faith of a PLANET has made a name for himself as one of the leading comedians and On-Air Personalities in the Country by headlining across North America (including Canada), New Zealand, The U.K. and Africa.

With his quick wit and unsurpassed knowledge for sports news, “GRIFF” took sports took sports to the ‘next level’ with his comedic twist on athletes and their stories. In 1999 he received Georgia’s Sportcaster of the Year Award and in 2004 “Street Skillz”, a program he provided the color commentary for was nominated for an EMMY.

Ultimately, GRIFF is a Comedian, an On-Air Personality, an Author, an Actor, a Motivational Speaker, a Daddy, an EMMY nominated Sportscaster and a man who puts Jesus Christ ahead of all men all wrapped into one.
