Bradford Keen is weird, but in a good way. Or that’s what people tell him at least. He got into comedy because he felt that making a change was important, but medicine was too difficult and science too filled with brimstone. Yes his comedy is metaphysical. In a way. Brad was a finalist in both the Chilli Bar Comedy Grand Challenge and the Mercury Live Comedy Showdown. He also recently went to the Grahamstown National Arts Festival (2013) as part of a four person stand up show, Cape Comedy, and ate lots of food at the Hare Krishna stall. radford’s comedy has been described as having a dark heart with a pumping vein of truth running through it. Oh, and it’s also bloody hilarious. He is proud to say that he has never felt comfortable hearing or telling a gag that rests on stereotypical or tired premises. Instead Bradford is of the belief that comedy is something far more lofty than a simple laugh. As long as we regard comedy as an art form that can simultaneously entertain, challenge and provoke change for audiences, then Bradford is proud to be a part of this industry.
