Brent is the sophisticated funny man currently doing the rounds on the stand up comedy circuit. Armed with his subtly mischievous sense of humour, Brent has been charming audiences for a long, long time. He also makes them laugh. Brent was born in the quaint suburb of Grassy Park on the Cape Flats, Brent has come a long way (And don’t forget, it’s at least a twenty minute drive from Grassy Park to the city). Since his illustrious suburban beginnings he has been tickling audiences at the Baxter’s Comedy Encounters, The BMW Pavillion, a host of comedy gigs around town including shows in Lagos Nigeria (Now that’s a long drive). He has also performed his self written one-man theatre show, Corner Hope and Vrede for two years and which, according to one review, had “all the ingredients of a lekker local evening out, like a visit with friends that entertain us with their anecdotes or antics that they very often don’t know they possess…” (The Argus). Not wanting to be a one hit wonder (Like Milli Vanilli) he followed this up with his second one-man show called Credit Crunch which too had raving reviews…where they said, Brent Palmer, Wow! That guy! Brent loves chirping on about just the general quirkiness of life around us, like cats and fridges to the more hilarious topics of…oh you know; dictators and politics. Equipped with the gift for playing characters (did he mention he’s a London trained actor?) his comedy is crammed with juicy observations and off the wall characters, fast making Brent known as the classiest acts in town.
