      Pule

      Pule describes himself as an “s’khothane” (new-age black youth sub-culture) who lives in Zone 3, Meadowlands in Soweto, “… he actually lives in Yeoville (Joburg), but spends most of his time in Soweto”. But the thing about Pule is that he is a white South African. He was given the name “Pule” on the day he was born. Pule speaks many languages which include Camtho, Zulu, Sotho, and English. Pule considers himself as a linguist and is also learning French and Japanese. Pule is known as “the black comic trapped in a white skin” and has shared the stage with a host of popular comedians, such as Felix Hlophe, Celeste Ntuli, Thapelo Tips, Simphiwe Shembe, Isaac Gampu, Siyanda Maphumulo and Tall A$$ Mo. Pule’s career started when he was doing a show at Wits University and was on a DVD called Strictly Vernac in 2009. The DVD was very well received. Pule is all about iKasi style (It’s a home-brewed, original style). Pule has since been touring the country with his particular brand of humour. Pule has filled the stand-up slot in three episodes of Laugh Out Loud for Mzansi Magic. Pule was the headliner at the Lebowakgomo FM Comedy Night June 2012. Pule was part of the entertainment at the infantry school in Oudtshoorn in September 2012. Pule has been part of so many shows. Pule has also performed in the play “Ster City” in France (Paris, Lyon and Nancy). It was also part of the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
